Magazines: Introduction to Representation

 1)Representation: how groups or events or individuals are presented / portrayed.

2)there is a women showing her weight loss and there is a group of family a man and a boy and a woman , also there is the celebrity Cheryl also has a quote that maybe Kerry said and also she looked tanned and the picture looks like it is taken from a paparazzi also there is a woman with a baby and another pregnant .

3)they are interested in men , themselves and their looks . also it is showing us what each person wants and  from the magazine it is telling us how they all  are represented to the media and how the media know them and in what way they are spoken about . 

4) it looks like that Kerry wants the man she said about 'Ryan' which shows that women wants men 

Also it’s telling us that women should be mothers and they are represented as mothers .

Also it’s bringing negative thoughts to women and that they should always look out and change their appearance and be worried about their looks . 

 also how the 2 women at the bottom of the magazine that said mothers day is special and that they have a pregnant and other has a child with her and these might be represented as a good mothers . 

the woman at the top left then she might be shown how hard she worked and might be as a hard worker. 

Cheryl might be known in a bad representation because it says double dates which she might be known as a cheater and she cheated on the guys and like she got exposed on media .

5) this subverts that celebrities always looks perfect outside but this shot was taken by a paparazzi where posh didn’t look as perfect in it and this might be a negative for celebrities .  

 this subverts the stereotype that we usually see of Cheryl and people might not expect Cheryl to be a cheater or date 2 people at the same time or her having 2 secret dates. It’s showing bad personality about her and women in society also this subverts about Kerry and her liking Ryan of what she said about him on the media. 

6)the producers want the audience to buy the magazine so they want them shocked and so they go and share what they read and convince people to buy it and the audience would want something they don't know and something new and something interesting for the media people.

7)people might be annoyed if they talked something that is not true or fake and get rumors about a celebrity or something else . people might get offended if also someone said negative things that are bad about them and it gets shared around the media and the person might be known now as this thing . also if a celebrity is fans got offended by what the person who did the magazine said and they might go and make a big problem and get things too on the media about the company of the magazine and etc.  so the fans sometimes can be powerful too  and stand by the someone is side , maybe depending on who they like . 

8) this might show the society and the media of what celebrities are like and what they do and might show how bad or good influencers they are to the society. it might get also the society and readers shocked if they didn't know about something that they read . 

so sometimes magazines can be good and bad and speak positive or negative things about something or someone and that it can be true or false too . 

People also might be mad that they want a friendly or a family magazine also women and people might be angry because it’s giving women bad representation in society and giving bad hints about them instead of the good and people might not like the magazine.
