Reveal: case study

 Media language

1) color scheme , there is a lot of colors which are mostly bright or neon . 

there is also maybe language on how they speak and a bit  of slang maybe . 

there is the barcode and price which is surprisingly the only thing that is serif . 

2) it is all sanserif which shows its more modern and cooler than being traditional and  embrace simplicity and the feeling of being modern. also the producer is trying to show that the magazine is friendly and nice . 

3) it tells the audience about women and their representation for example with men and media and their own representation as there are saying women has to keep their looks the best and have a perfect body .

4) its all bright and light colors and a lot of different colors . I do think the colors made the magazine crowded but at least the 2 main colors match a bit .I also think they are trying to show that it is fun and exciting magazine from the colors . 

5) its saying and trying to show us that these are unseen things or pictures in life of celebrities and trying to show that this is celebrities in public , this is because they are taken by a paparazzi .                                       eg when Loren was there it was a studio shot so it was Loren looking perfect and has all make up and best looking with  lighting and angles . celebrities' wont know they are being shot and they might not be looking good and perfect and no make up or costume . 

6) Tatler is for upper classes and uses serif so its very modern , rich , expensive , popular and traditional but Reveal talks about bed representation of women and celebrities' and its more likely to be an oppositional readings . and reveal only care about women having diets and loosing weight and perfect bodies and mother hood and etc.  

Representations

1) there is  Katie who they are showing that she is interested in that man and say they like exposed her or told  a big secret about her . also Kelly as her eating a cake and maybe they might show or say that Kelly shouldn't eat it . 

2) there are women which I think are represented as domestic and that they go to a lot of parties and mostly women are represented bad as the reveal magazine only want women to be or care about kids fashion their looks and diet and the magazine is like saying to women you should be that and you should do this .  it may be very rude and disrespectful as a women to hear that . 

3) Tatler is more of modern and upper and rich and middle class , but Reveal where I think is more of middle and lower maybe working class and it think could never by for upper class. 

4) I think its more of oppositional and females especially  might hate these kind of magazines . especially that they might objectify or hurt the females and ruin their representation in general and in social media .

Social and cultural context

 1) it might get bad and negative reputation about celebrities here and maybe be negative social media in Britain . it is opposite then Tatler . 

2) it may tells us that they are struggling to loos weight or do a diet or get in a relation ship or maybe celebrities with paparazzies . 

3) all of them are the same price and are cheap which is more likely for middle and lower class to buy it and read these kind of things . also al of them talk about women and all of them talk about women the same exact way and maybe in a negative way for women .
