End of Year 1 exam: Learner Response


 1) Type up your feedback in full (you do not need to write mark/grade if you do not wish to).

WWW: Question 1.3 is excellent and you show very good knowledge of the CSPs. If you can add exam technique to this you will make significant progress. 

EBI: -Revise intertextuality

- Do not just describe what happens in the clip or the episode: you must make sure you answer the question. 

- Revise narrative theory for question 1.2 

-For question 2 you need to write about how each programme reflects the time it was made. 

2) Question 1.1 asked you what intertextuality is. Write out the definition of intertextuality - you may need to look it up in your glossary or Media book if you're not sure.

When one media text references another media text (e.g The Doctor appears in Class)

3) Look at your answers for 1.2 and 1.3. Did you ONLY write about the clip shown in the exam? How can you improve your answers in these questions?

yes, give detailed answer  of the clip and use narrative theory. 

4) Look at your answer for question 2 - the 20-mark essay. Did you write about BOTH Doctor Who and Class and give examples from both CSP episodes we have studied? How could you improve your answer here?

yes, talk and compare the time of 1963 and 2016 and how it changed. talk about the characters and describe their chracter then link it to camera angels CLAMPS , Blumler and Katz and Uses and Gratifications theory. 

5) Are you happy with your End of Year 1 exam result?

I think its alright for the first time but next time need to do better . 

6) What will you do differently for the next set of mock exams in November/December?

lears the narrative theories and use many as CLAMPS , Blumler and Katz and Uses and Gratifications theory and CAGE and etc. 

7) Write THREE things you need to revise or practice before your next TV assessment (e.g. notetaking, CSPs, media theories, terminology etc.)

Intersexuality , narrative theories and Blumler and Katz . 

8) What final overall grade do you hope to achieve in GCSE Media Studies this time next year?

i  hope to get 6 or 7 for now.
